The company I work for has just announced that we can elect to contribute to a cafeteria plan if we would like to.  I have never paid much attention to how these plans worked since I have never had this option available.  the way I understand it I can elect to contribute pre tax dollars to a plan that is designated for a specific purpose.  I know there are restrictions on what you can use it for but I don’t know all of the options.  I would be interested in contributing the amount I spend on day car each month.  I am going to consult with my accountant before making any decisions.
